Hello, parrot lovers!

If you've got a Green-Cheeked Amazon parrot, you know they're big on personality—and appetite! Feeding these little guys well isn’t just about filling up the food bowl; it’s about creating a balanced, nutritious (and sometimes colorful) spread to keep them healthy and happy. So, let’s dive into some tips on what (and what not) to serve up for these feathery friends.

1.

Green-Cheeks love a mix of seeds, pellets, fresh fruits, and veggies. Try leafy greens, carrots, and bell peppers for a rainbow of nutrients. Remember, they can be picky, so patience is key—one day’s “eww” could be tomorrow’s “yum!”

2.

Steer clear of avocado, chocolate, caffeine, and anything too salty or sugary. These can be dangerous for our feathered pals.

3.

Add a bit of excitement to mealtime by introducing foraging activities. Hide some treats in crinkled paper or puzzle feeders to keep them mentally stimulated and entertained.

4.

Make sure to keep their water fresh. Green-Cheeks are clever, and they will toss things into their water just to keep you on your toes!
