Hi, Alfie is now 13 years old and (in my opinion) good condition. But I have a concern about one side of his wing feathers. They are all missing or have been chewed. What I’d like to know is : Is this boredom or an underlying condition that I should be worried about please? I do have photos but don’t know how to upload

If it is concentrated on one wing I don't think it is due to boredom. It could be something has irritated him on that wing and that has led to him chewing the feathers. Maybe he banged his wing and damaged the feathers and that led to him losing or chewing them. When you create a thread there is a little icon to click on for inserting an image.
Somewhere in another universe, dear brother, you got saved.
My grey, Sheeba, is missing a few flight feathers on both wings. She has been like that since I adopted her 8 years ago. I tend to think they were missing from when she was raised, she never picks at them and they have never grown in. It does make me sad that she doesn't fly or even try to fly. She is now 15.

Thank you for your replies. Feel a lot happier that it’s not something sinister going on. He is a happy chappy and sings, whistles, talks and mumbles a lot. Eats and drinks regularly and often spends time on one leg so I’m happy it’s not serious. But one more question please. Thomas has already stated that the feathers haven’t grown back on his bird, does this mean that once they are gone they are gone for good? When they try to grow back it looks like he’s chewing at them and trying to pull them out. Is this ok?
Chyloe has problems with her flight feathers on her left wing. They do grow in but don't seem to anchor themselves so the slightest bang and one falls out. She does not chew them. At the end of July, daddy came downstairs while she was sleeping. It startled her and she fell off her sleeping perch and thrashed around. All the flight feathers fell out of her left wing and have still not grown back. She never has a full complement of flight feathers on that wing and cannot fly. She is still a happy camper even without flying.
