These ants cut and carry bits of leaf for their own agriculture. I was watching a programme about a zoo where the keepers had cut some leaves into little snowflake shapes as a Christmas present for the ants, to save them the work of cutting the leaves themselves. These ants can carry several times their own body weight but the little leaf snowflakes were too heavy for them so the ants cut them into pieces, apart from one determined ant who staggered all the way back to the fungal farm with a complete snowflake shaped leaf. The leaves provide nutrition for the fungus the ants have cultivated.
Somewhere in another universe, dear brother, you got saved.
