After about 20 months, I introduced Beaker to shoulder sitting.
The last time I let my Amazon sit on my shoulder (it was the last) I took a nice bite in an ear.
He never sat on my shoulder again.
Beaker is respectful of all stuff attached to me, so this has worked out and I treat it as a reward, rather then a "right".
I do have to shave more often as whiskers just bug him.
I draw the line at him snoozing there.
I have several "sacrificial" thick shirts that I use, and Beaker seems to understand that I need to change before I will let him sit there, so he will step off onto his stand and patiently wait for the shirt to be changed, then it is all aboard!
Jezebel has sat on my shoulder since I got her at 3 months old...I know people say it's not a good idea but I have never had a problem with her being there....she doesn't chew on anything on me or play while there...it's her preening time for herself and me
Max used to ride around on my shoulder. I too always needed to change first and had lots of holey T shirts. Chyloe never attempts to go up on my shoulder. She prefers to ride on my arm which hinders my actions.

DJ doesn't like my shoulder and will only stay there for a few seconds while I need to use my hands for something. He loves to be on hubby's shoulder and would stay there all day if he could. He also likes to sit on hubby's belly on the couch. He doesn't chew our clothes at all but if hubby is wearing his glasses while DJ is on his shoulder, he will fling them across the room but he doesn't chew my husband's chain on his neck, doesn't even notice it. The only jewelry that seems to bothers him is the bracelet on my right hand. He won't step up for me if the bracelet is too close to my hand. I roll it up my arm and he steps right up.

Sheeba loves to sit on my shoulder, never bites and sometimes can be a struggle to get her off! She is the strangest parrot I have owned, she will only poop in her cage or off the top of the cage. I can have her out on the couch for hours playing with her towel or just sitting with me and she will let me know when she wants to go back to the cage to do her duty. She has never pooped on my shirt, either.
When I got her, I thought she was constipated, because she wouldn't poop everywhere like most birds do, but she was vet checked and is just fine.
Ash sits on my shoulder... but only my left shoulder. She will only let me pick her up with my right hand, but will only sit on my left shoulder. She especially loves to be on my shoulder when I shave using my electric razor, she puts her head down so I can 'shave' her using the back of the razor. Probably one of these days she will be in a bad mood and pull out my left eye, but I would only have myself to blame for letting a can opener with an attitude on my shoulder right?
We must protect those that can not protect themselves.
LoL Zoo...Jezzie is the same way with the shoulder / hand preference...will only step up to my right hand, will only sit on my right shoulder and will only step up using her left foot They are such strange little creatures...Hubby swears I'm gonna be missing part of an ear one day if I don't stop with the shoulder sitting
